'Shutter' Island!

Seeing the title don't misunderstand that i am gonna write a review about the film. The island being referred here is the Museum compound at Trivandrum where the photography exhibition "Exposure" took place yesterday. The museum premises were fully filled with photographers and DSLR cams. The venue turned out to be yet another place a photo shoot. The event really provided an opportunity for many photography enthusiasts to showcase their talent and to interact with eminent photographers from all over Kerala.

We should thank Mr Ananthu Ganesh and Mr Bittu George for taking the initiative to organize such a wonderful event which was sponsored by Alamy Images. And not to forget the role of social networks these days like Facebook, where these people met and decided to take up such ventures. The exhibition featured almost 300 photographs of 30 photographers which got a great response from the viewers. Eminent personalities like Mr R Gopalakrishnan(Still Photographer), Mr Balan Madhavan(Wildlife Photographer) and Mr Vipin Mohan(Cinematographer) were also present which really added the grace to the event. The event was really a feast for the people of Trivandrum, their numbers just showing how much they are interested in this art!

It's great to see young people are coming up with such innovative ideas, that was even reflected in Mr Balan Madhavan's feedback to the event. Now the platform is set for everyone to showcase their creativity. Seeing the kind of response i really hope Trivandrum will turn into a regular host for more and more exhibitions. It's evident that next time the participation will be more and exciting. It will be really great if we get a support from the concerned authorities for a better venue and provision. Congrats and hearty thanks to all the photographers who participated in the event. For the moment we can proudly talk about "Exposure"..An event that lighted the city with some exceptional works!

The people who made it possible!

Be My Valentine!

So everyone set to rock Valentines Day?? Before starting this blog, i do want to ask everyone a very genuine question..How many of you still believe in 'True Love'?? Majority will be answering a big 'Nooo' as the meaning of love has changed to flirting, sex, one-night stand or in Malayalam we use a very favorite word called 'Theppu'! Both boys and gals are equally responsible for this transition. But i will never say that True Love has become extinct from our society as there are many who still believes and prays for that to happen, but very very less when compared to olden times. I do love to share a story with you, which i think everyone should hear especially when love has mostly become a way of getting physical pleasure!

Don't get excited about the story as this is not one of the kinds i wrote earlier. The story comes from my friend's life who is sincerely loving a gal for the past 11 years. The funny part of the story is that she neither knows about his love nor knows him personally. His love story started in 7th standard and still continues like Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge's non-stop run in Mumbai. I still make fun of him saying that she will ever know about him in life and will get married to a handsome guy soon and all, but i should say i respect him for the sincerity he keeps even aft 11 years. In school, his friends have done almost all sorts of pranks on him to get her attention, but all in vain. She was one of the most beautiful gals in Trivandrum during my school-time. The only problem about him is that he gets too sad or desperate after seeing her profile in Facebook or Orkut. Love is mostly one-sided in the case of sincere love, but i find it divine as it is not easy to love a gal for a long period of time, to wait for her with the hope that she will realize your feelings someday..I know many guys who got the same problem, but i respect them for the sincerity they keeps even now and i am sure one day they will be rewarded. I sincerely hope my friend gets the best in his life, may god bless him the best throughout his life as he is one the best guys i have ever come a friend and a lover!

And there is another close friend of mine who regrets about his breakup sometimes. Due to some problems at the gal's home, he had to break the relation else she would have been tortured badly by her parents. But at times, he happens to regret about his decision, but won't ever admit that he still loves her. The same is the case with the gal, but she is afraid of a reconciliation. Another case where love exists, but not ready for admitting or getting back together. There are many other cases where long term love have ended in marriage, which happens rarely these days. Thats why i said in the beginning that true love still exists in society but its rare and it's slowly becoming extinct!

So whats your plan for tomorrow?? As for the guys, the celebration will start from Beverage shops or Pubs(my case will be the same too) and mostly end up in police stations. Its the trend in Kerala to break the drinking records for all occasions. I sincerely hope the case will be different tomorrow..Spend some time with your lover, take her for a lunch or dinner..hang around the best her something..but don't go beyond the limit;)..I don't intend or hope to change the people's views about love, or the changing style of love these days..But it will be great if my blog tends to create a change or influence at least one person's life, better if it's inspired from my friend's story! Still love has got a great value among many, i hope it will always stay the way it is! There is no age, religion, caste or creed bar for love..I wish everyone a very very Happy Valentines Day, have a great one with your loved one's..And special wishes for all who are hoping for a new start from tomorrow!
